In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “In Loving Memory.”
She wanted to be everything, to everyone. Never satisfied with mediocrity and always striving to uplift and challenge those around her. One thing that most never knew about her, was that even through that unparalleled confidence, her self-loathing knew no bounds. She saw what everyone else did, magnified ten-fold. She spent too much time working on pleasing others, critiquing– that she forgot about what was important. She tried so hard to love limitlessly, but it was all done in jest. Selfishly creating an empire that would eventually lead to perpetual unhappiness. If only she let go and saw through what other’s thought– how little it mattered in the end. If she was able to just be herself and plan less, live in-the-moment more… things would have been different.
